THIS EQUESTRIENNE LADY RIDING SIDESADDLE ON A HORSE IS ILLUSTRATED IN THE BOOK:THE ART OF THE VANE, STEVE MILLER. 1984, PAGE 133. IT IS ATTRIBUTED TO THE JEWELL & CO.WALTHAM,MASS. FOR BEAUTY & STYLIZATION, HE WAS THE ONLY MAKER WHO RIVIALED THE HOWARD CO. JEWELL OPERATED A SMALL SHOP FROM 1852-1867. HE FELL OFF OF A PAINT PLATFORM IN 1867 AND PASSED. HIS UNIQUE MOLDS, DESIGNS AND EQUIPTMENT WAS SOLD TO THE CUSHING & WHITE CO. IT WAS PURCHASED FROM A N.Y. STATE COLLECTION WHERE IT WAS FOR 35 YEARS. IT HAS ONE BULLET HOLE AND A FEW MINOR DENTS. 30" X 18" NOT INCLUDING BASE. THE SURFACE IS WEATHERED WITH NO REPAIRS, THE WAY YOU WANT TO FIND THEM. I HAVE ONLY SEEN 2 LADYS ON HORSEBACK WEATHERVANES.
